99.99999999% are scams. I mean who wouldn’t want to work from home? No commute, no expensive clothes, no child care, etc. If you’ve worked for a company for several years and the employer determines that you are a self-starter and able to work without supervision, you MAY be able to telecommute, but again, that’s what other employees would want to do too.
Following are some links to government sponsored sites that discuss the problems applicable to work at home schemes:

I know it’s hard to find jobs out there because I’m unemployed too. But don’t be taken advantage of just because rip-off artists are trying to steal your money and time.

There are a few out there, but bear in mind, most of these will not pay very well at all, less than minimum wage in some cases for the time that you spend on them. Also, beware some of the answers that you might see to your question, especially if they claim that they make $ 1000 or more per week doing what they are doing and provide with a hyperlink. They are scams.
About the only thing I can think of is find something that people want, buy it wholesale for cheap and sell sell sell.

Most of them are scams so be very careful in providing them your info. I was skeptic too to apply for this job because like what you’ve said it’s too good to be true.
Question: Does there exist LEGITIMATE work from home jobs without out of pocket costs?
The only things I’ve found are either websites that make you pay for bad lists of employers or jobs, companies that want you to “start your own business”, or give them up front money to “invest in yourself”. In other words, a lot of too good to be true, get rich quick ads!! Are there any non-1099 work from home jobs for professionals of accounting, customer service, or data entry as a legitimate employee of a reputable company where your salary is based on actual productivity instead of how much you can sell??

Well, there are a few… you could do medical billing from home, but it requires some classes. I would stay away from anything that sounds too good to be true, such as “secret shopper” positions or even stuffing envelopes because 9 times out of 10 it is a fraud. In my line of work I see many people who have been taken in by somebody who supposedly gave them some work to do at home. If someone gives you a huge check and asks you to cash it and wire some of it back, it’s a scam. As far as legitimate avenues are concerned… proofreading, desktop publishing, home sewing, babysitting, etc. are some but they don’t pay much,
Question: Where’s a good place/website to search for “work at home” jobs?
Due to the harsh economic climate and scarce job market, Im curious as to the notion of finding a job that involves me working at home (Coventry, England) on my laptop, problem is I wouldn’t know where to look, what companies offer such positions, what websites have directories and suggestions and etc. Any help would be appreciated.
